IPTV replaces the cable box with an app. Once you have a subscription, the process is the same on almost every device: install a player, sign in with the credentials your provider sends, and let the guide populate. This guide walks through it once, then points you to the device-specific pages for Firestick and smart TVs where the button-presses differ slightly.

Before you start: what you need

• Your login details. Either an M3U URL or an Xtream Codes username, password and server address. Stable IPTV sends both on WhatsApp after you pick a plan on the pricing page.
• A supported device. A Fire TV Stick, Android TV or Google TV box, Apple TV, a Samsung or LG smart TV, or a phone, tablet or computer. See the devices hub for the best pick.
• A stable connection. Roughly 25–50 Mbps handles HD comfortably; 4K needs more headroom. If streams stutter, read IPTV without buffering.
• A player app, which you install in the next step — most are free.

Step-by-step: install IPTV on any device

   Choose a player app

   Decide between TiviMate (polished guide, Android-based devices), IPTV Smarters or IPTV Smarters Pro (cross-platform, works almost everywhere), or your TV's built-in IPTV app. When in doubt, IPTV Smarters is the safe default because it runs on the widest range of hardware.

   Install the app

   Open your device's app store — the Amazon Appstore on Firestick, Google Play on Android/Google TV, the App Store on Apple TV, or the Samsung/LG store on a smart TV — search the player name, and install it. If a player is not in your TV's store, add a small streaming stick instead.

   Enter your M3U or Xtream login

   Open the player and choose 'Add playlist' or 'Add user'. For Xtream Codes, type the username, password and server URL. For an M3U playlist, paste the M3U URL. Give the profile a name and save. Copy long links carefully — a single wrong character stops it loading.

   Load the EPG (TV guide)

   Most players import the electronic programme guide automatically from your subscription. If not, paste the EPG/XMLTV URL your provider supplied into the app's guide settings, then let it download. The full guide can take a minute or two to appear the first time.

   Test a channel

   Open a live channel and confirm the picture is sharp, audio is in sync and the guide shows correct programme times. Try a sports feed and an on-demand title too. If everything plays, your install is done; if not, restart the app and re-check the login.

Choosing a player app

TiviMate

TiviMate is the favourite of many long-time users for its fast, cable-style guide, recordings (with the paid Premium tier) and multi-view. It runs on Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV, but not on Apple TV, Samsung Tizen or LG webOS. If you own one of those, use a different player.

IPTV Smarters / Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters is the most broadly compatible option: Fire TV, Android, iOS, Apple TV, Windows and Mac, and some smart TVs. The interface is plainer than TiviMate but the setup is identical — M3U or Xtream — and it is the easiest app to recommend when you are not sure what your device supports.

Built-in and TV-store apps

Samsung and LG carry IPTV players in their own stores, and Apple TV has several App Store options. These avoid a second remote, but the selection is smaller and updates are slower. M3U link vs Xtream Codes login

These are two ways to feed the same subscription into a player. An M3U URL is a single long web address containing your channels; paste it once and the app pulls everything. Xtream Codes splits the same details into a username, password and server URL, which many apps prefer because they can also fetch the guide and on-demand catalogue cleanly. Either works — use whichever your player asks for, and keep both handy.

Loading the EPG (TV guide)

The EPG is the on-screen grid of what's on now and next. Good players import it automatically from your subscription; if yours looks blank, open the app's guide or EPG settings and paste the XMLTV URL from your WhatsApp welcome message. Allow a minute for the first download, and set the guide's time zone to your province so programme times line up.

Test before you commit

Always test on your own connection before relying on IPTV for a big game or a busy evening. Stable IPTV offers a short free trial on request precisely so you can check performance at peak hours. Open several channels, jump to a 4K feed if you have one, and watch for a few minutes — a service that holds up during the first evening will usually keep holding up.
